Speculative Futures
This project explored trend forecasting and in turn create a speculative world where this trend will be prominent. Due to the rise of digital platforms and subsequently shorter trend cycles, shallow cores and aesthetics have overcome true youth subcultures. Therefore my take on this brief, will be the idea of no trend, we have overdone previous trends and are not creating a past for the future. Subculture will reemerge in a new way, communities will form and human contact will be seen as important once again.
This trend report explores my prediction and solution of 'Core Extinction'
I created an interactive scrapbook, 'Blank Canvas' as my narrative outcome, as a response to the idea that generation alpha will reject social media and become creative through tangible materials, and opening up organic conversations and human connections.
